The Centre for Climate Finance & Investment (CCFI) at Imperial College Business School is pleased to invite you to ‘Financial Impact of Climate Risk’ the first in a series of three summer webinars focusing on the climate finance sponsored by asset-manager Unigestion.

Extending from the recent CCFI publication: ‘What Is Climate Risk? A Field Guide for Investors, Lenders and Regulators’ author Dr Bob Buhr, Honorary Research Fellow, will lead the webinar with a presentation on his research into a ‘climate risk taxonomy’ that classifies climate risks at the firm level by capturing a broad range of physical and transition risks that may impact a firm’s financial profile.

Climate change is sure to have broad impacts on companies across affected sectors, including on their credit profiles and share prices. But knowledge of this fact is of limited use to lenders, investors, and regulators, unless the risks posed by a changing climate can be granulated in terms of their scope, timing, and probability.

The research develops a toolkit to help investors, lenders and regulators identify and assess the potential scope and impact of a wide range of climate risks. As well as outlining the key findings of the report, the webinar will focus on the practical implications of these findings for industry leaders.

Bob will be joined by Carmen Nuzzo, Head of Fixed Income at PRI and Stella Mirzoyan, ESG Analyst at Unigestion in a panel discussion following his presentation.

The event will be moderated by Michael Wilkins, Executive Director of the CCFI and there will be time allocated for audience Q&A.
